Wine is history
For three generations the Villa Gutenberg, our home and trademark, is inseparably linked with us. Distinctive, on a vineyard hillside facing the Rhine, the art nouveau estate is situated. It is a "good hill” – "Guter Berg” – for winegrowing. This is how the name Gutenberg came into being. In Paris at the world exhibition 1900 awarded, this art nouveau jewel with its round arches and bays was accomplished between 1902 and 1904.
1978 Sieglinde & Richard Nägler sen. bought the charming estate and affectionately renovated it. Since then, in the midst of the Mediterranean garden and impressive surroundings, it is the home of the Nägler family!
From the site in Winkel, 1985 the winery was relocated here.
Since 1999 Andrea & Richard jun. manage the winery with dedication.
